This Thursday, two NL West teams will clash for the first of four games in Colorado. Los Angeles owns a 13-game lead over the Rockies at press time, so this will be a prime opportunity for Colorado to begin to close the gap for the division lead if they can use home field advantage. Thursday’s game will be a rematch of a game that took place just five days prior, as Los Angeles’ starter Walker Buehler will be up against Rockies’ rookie standout Peter Lambert. Last week’s matchup ended in a 5-4 Dodgers’ victory, but will they be able to duplicate that effort in the thin air of Colorado?

The Dodgers’ Walker Buehler pitched the best game of his season in his last outing against the Rockies. The 24-year-old righty dominated over a complete game victory that saw him strike out 16 batters and surrender just two runs on three hits.

The Rockies rank third in the league in team average (.266), so they should be able to get better results against Buehler after having just faced him last week. However, Colorado will be forced to play without Trevor Story on Thursday, as the shortstop is currently on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb sprain. Game time is scheduled for 8:40 PM ET, so be sure to tune in.
