The Dallas Cowboys still lead the NFC East at 6-6 (7-5 ATS), but after losing six of their last nine games, the Cowboys don’t look like true title contenders. Then again, things are even worse for the Chicago Bears (6-6 SU, 3-9 ATS), who are hanging onto their Wild Card hopes by a thread after winning the NFC North last year. They’ll meet in this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football, kicking off at 8:20 PM ET on Fox and the NFL Network.

The Cowboys have opened at –3 for this matchup with a total of 42.5, but they’ll be playing at Soldier Field, where the temperature is expected to dip below freezing by game time. Dallas and Chicago have split the last two matchups that happened early December, with Chicago winning 45-28 in 2013 and Dallas winning 41-28 the year after.

As difficult as life has been for QB Mitch Trubisky and the offense, the Bears still have one of the better defenses in the league, and an excellent return game with Cordarrelle Patterson on kick-offs and Tarik Cohen on punts. Will that be enough to push them into the postseason? Tune in on Thursday for more clarity.
