This Thursday, playoff implications are on the line as the Philadelphia Flyers head to Montreal to take on the Canadiens. The Habs have struggled of late, dropping four of their last five games. That recent skid has landed them in the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. From the Flyers’ perspective, that’s a spot they’re gunning for. At press, Philadelphia sits just six points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets and nine points behind the Canadiens for the last Wild Card spots in the East. After struggling with consistency at the goaltending position, Hart has stepped in and stabilized the Flyers on the way to posting a 2.67 goals against average and .920 save percentage.
Though they’ve struggled of late to keep pace in the Atlantic Division, Montreal has also received solid goaltending from former Vezina winner Carey Price. After some early-season challenges, Price has recaptured his MVP form and now boasts an 2.56 goals against average and .916 save percentage.
