The Toronto Blue Jays will play the second game of a four-game series in Toronto this Tuesday when they host the Angels. Like the Jays, Los Angeles has struggled through the first part of the season and now sit two games below .500 and 13 games behind the division-leading Houston Astros. Things are looking up for the Angels of late, however, as they’ve begun to receive some much-needed offensive production from Shohei Ohtani. After missing the first couple of months of the 2019 season following Tommy John surgery, the Japanese sensation has returned as the team’s DH and is seeing his game round into form.

Following a sluggish May, Ohtani is hitting .321 with a 1.063 OPS in June. Ohtani’s production is much-needed, as the Angels’ pitchers seem unable to keep opposition offences off of the board. They rank No. 25 in team ERA (5.04) and are without a true No. 1 starter after Matt Harvey and Trevor Cahill went down with injuries earlier this year.

As a result, the Jays will have an opportunity to rack up some runs in LA. They’re coming off of a 12-run offensive explosion against the Houston Astros, and they’ll be eager to build upon that against LA. Tune in for the 7:07 PM ET first pitch.
